It's Christmas at Sunnyhurst

Sunnyhurst wood is a public amenity woodland near to Darwen in Lancs. We spent the week returning an area of the wood to heathland. Over time the heathland has been encroached on by invasive trees, mainly Birch. We were removing these and stacking the wood to make a home for invertebrates.

We worked Christmas day, but took a day off on Boxing day. We took a well earned rest and then Terry guided us on a walk round the area with a stop at a local pub, The Royal Oak. At the very end of the week we walked up to see the view from Darwen Tower

The week was a Natural Break.
