Narrow Boat Cruising on the scenic Llangollen Canal
The Llangollen canal is a very popular waterway in North Wales. It winds its
way from Whitchurch to Llangollen. We joined the canal at Chirk, and followed
it over the aquaduct at Pontcysyllte into Llangollen.
The highlight (literally) was the long trip over the aquaduct flowing in an
iron trough. This was built between 1793 and 1806 and it is the
highest aquaduct on the canal circuit towering 126ft over the river Dee
